Fashion

Fashion is not my strongest medium however it was fun trying something new. I decided I wanted to do a print of a image. I found two images relating to the theme. I edited them individually in photoshop then combined the two images. Added some typography. The overall concept comes from popular culture in t-shirt design. General conventions include attractive women or a vintage element, mine contains both.

This is an experiment into stencil printing.

Ceramics

During this lesson we created test tiles to experiment with different
styles and techniques used in ceramics. I was very familiar with
most of them because of my past experience in three dimensional
design. I used a number of tools to get different desired effects. This
is early experimental stages. We will be creating our design for a slab
piece with a nautical theme with a reflection of our personality.

Art & Design Foundation Diploma

I decided to create a title page/banner for my Art Foundation work. During the summer I dug up from the earth a selection of roots. I decided to keep them to use at a later date, they reminded me of weird creatures. The shapes and textures that the roots were so raw and suggestive. I arranged the roots I had into some sort of creature. I placed them on some white sheets of paper creating a studio floor. I used a softbox and hard lights with barn doors to light the subject. I edited the image in photoshop reflection the image to create a surreal pattern. Triangles are very in so I drew a burgundy triangle in the middle of the image and chose some typography to title the piece.
